On February 6, the RMA Trends in Action event took place at the MrWork office. With about 40 visitors we went deeper into the results from the MrWork RMA Trends Report 2025, exchanged experiences and Jildert Huitema inspired us with an interesting session on the future of work. An afternoon in which networking, inspiration and practical tips came together!
A deep dive into the RMA Trends Report
Around 3:30, the MrWork office filled up with invited guests. A nice mix of clients, associates, partners and freelancers who are affiliated with our community. We start the program with a presentation by Mees in which he goes over the key insights from the RMA Trends Report.
Jaap and Joost then take over to zoom in on 2 key challenges that emerged from the survey: too little data insight and too small a recruitment (marketing) team. They give practical tips to make your data more insightful and emphasize which KPIs you want to measure anyway. In addition, they provide concrete steps you can take to improve productivity in your team so that you can still achieve great results with a smaller team.

The world of work
In HR and recruitment teams, many organizations talk about scarcity, equal opportunities and job happiness. As founder of consulting firm ImpactWork, Jildert Huitema deals with sustainable HR issues on a daily basis and takes us through the forces shaping the world of work. During the session - during which Jildert stimulated attendees with questions - we talked about:
- Aging and tightness: tightness is here to stay, due in part to an aging population. This requires making strategic choices and integrated planning.
- Automation and technology: repetitive tasks are becoming increasingly automated, making digital skills increasingly important.
- Work becomes more flexible: we organize work in new ways, for example, remotely and in flexible forms (secondment, on-call workers, platform jobs), so that it can be easily combined with other needs and ambitions.
- Learning new skills: the skills needed for work are changing faster than ever, and skill-based organizing of work is the path many organizations are taking.

After-talk is just as important
An event is not complete without a good drink afterwards! After all the sessions everyone stuck around to make new contacts, have interesting discussions about the topics covered in the sessions and share experiences with each other. We asked some attendees the question "What do you think is the most important recruitment trend for 2025?". Check out their answers below:
Prefer to read? Some insights from attendees:
- "I expect employers to start linking their training offerings to recruitment so that they can use these growth opportunities to persuade candidates to choose them." - Jochem van der Linden, LT Group
- "We put the focus on properly qualifying candidates. By asking the right questions at the beginning of the process, we can gain a lot." - Hugo Jelier & Julia Kooijman, Greenstaff
- "In 2025, the candidate is more in control of the job market than ever before. The candidate knows that there is always a better deal to be had, and as a recruiter you have to respond well to that." - Lennaert Buschma, Sopra Steria
- "The labor market tightness is only going to get worse and you can't help but prepare for it by implementing solutions in the areas of AI, recruitment marketing automation and skill-based hiring." - Hugo de Reus, HTM
So everyone went home with new inspiration, connections and insights. Afternoon successful!
